Conducting teaching and learning sessions in our english-language Bachelor`s degree program in Computer Science:

Fundamentals of Computer Science


Planned Schedule: Block 1, 5 weeks, 13.10.25 – 14.11.25

Workload: 60 teaching hours (on-site)

Content: Computer components (CPU, RAM, GPU, Mainboard, PSU, Bus systems), Software (Operating Systems, BIOS/UEFI), Applications (Web/Native Application, Mobile Applications), Programming (Data types, variables, flow control, algorithm, libraries and functions)

Project Management


Planned Schedule: Block 2, 8 weeks, 13.10.25 – 05.12.25

Workload: 48 teaching hours (on-site)

Content: Standard project management methods like Waterfall, V-Model, Scrum, 12 principles of the agile manifesto, Team values and culture, team communication and team size, Estimating tasks and efforts, Reading academic papers (e.g. structure and content of scientific articles, reading techniques such as skim-reading, close reading etc.), Knowledge management (e.g. computer-based reference managers, note-taking), Writing academic papers (e. g. the process of writing, paragraph structure, citing and referencing, revising and rewriting, addressing an academic conversation, plagiarism)

Mathematics 1


Planned Schedule: Block 3, 5 weeks, 17.11.25 – 19.12.25

Workload: 60 teaching hours (on-site)

Content: Number systems: decimal, binary, hexadecimal, Numbers: irrational numbers and the difficulties associated with their representation on a pocket calculator or computer, complex numbers and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, Propositional calculus, Systems of linear equations: Gaussian elimination, Vector algebra and analytic geometry: linear combinations, scalar and vector products, lines and planes, Limits: concept and computation, continuity, bisection method, Differential calculus: definition of derivative, rules of derivation, tangent, Newton’s method, monotonicity and concavity, Integral calculus: inversion of differentiation –indefinite integral, area calculation – definite integral, Fundamental, Theorem of Calculus, Integral calculus: substitution rule, integration by parts, partial fraction decomposition, improper integrals

Programming


Planned Schedule: Block 4, 8 weeks, 08.10.25 – 20.02.25

Workload: 64 teaching hours (on-site)

Content: Basic data types (integers, floating point format, ASCII/Unicode-characters) and their dependencies on the CPU architecture, Advanced data types (arrays, strings, structs, lists, classes, objects), Operators (arithmetical operations, logical operations, bit operations), Control flow (choice, loops, jumps), functions (function definitions/interface, recursive functions, "call by value" versus "call by reference"), Essential standard libraries and functions, file concept, database access, streams basic algorithms, collections and generics/templates, GUI programming, Exercise programs to deepen the programming skills

Personal & Future Skills


Planned Schedule: Block 5, 5 weeks, 12.01.26 – 13.02.26

Workload: 48 teaching hours (on-site)

Content: Overview: Perception, generalization traps, stereotypes and prototypes, ethnocentrism, Communicating in business: Frame of reference, language and culture, nonverbal communication, defining cultural dimensions, context and communication, expression, emotion, silence, rhetoric and language, presentations, Presentation techniques, Conflict management, Doing business in different countries, Networking and personal branding, Applications and Case studies
