The IT Application Engineer is responsible for the technical administration, maintenance, and integration of enterprise business applications that enable project, financial, and operational workflows across the organization. The role ensures stable, secure, and optimized performance of core IT systems, interfaces, and analytics platforms under the strategic direction of the Director IT. This position combines strong technical skills in application architecture, database management, and API integration with an understanding of business processes and IT governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Application Operations & Support
Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise business applications across the IT landscape.
Manage user lifecycle processes (creation, roles, permissions, deactivation).
Deliver 2nd/3rd-level technical support and root-cause analysis for incidents.
Coordinate version updates, patches, and test environment refreshes.
Integration & Workflow Engineering
Maintain and monitor integrations across ERP, project, and reporting systems.
Manage REST and OData APIs, scheduled synchronization, and data exchange processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve interface or performance issues in coordination with internal and external teams.
Design and maintain workflow automation to optimize business processes.
Reporting & Data Analytics
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and SQL-based reports for management and operational needs.
Build optimized data models and queries for performance and accuracy.
Ensure reporting consistency, version control, and access governance.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and change logs in SharePoint.
Follow ITIL-based incident, change, and release management procedures.
Support audit readiness, security, and compliance documentation.
Infrastructure & Coordination
Collaborate with IT Infrastructure teams to ensure system performance, capacity, and uptime.
Participate in system monitoring, DR testing, and backup validation.
Align all technical operations with strategic objectives defined by the Director IT.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Informatics.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in enterprise application engineering or administration.
Strong knowledge of SQL, .NET / Java frameworks, API integration, and Power BI.
Experience in on-premise enterprise application environments.
Fluent in English; German proficiency preferred.
