Sector Development

acts as a trusted advisor to DHL CSI’s sales teams across all sectors. We analyze industry trends and customer needs, turning insights into actionable supply chain strategies. Our team drives strategic growth initiatives, connects stakeholders, and challenges the status quo to deliver innovative solutions. By leading key projects and aligning priorities, we help sectors achieve their objectives and create value for our customers.

As an

Intern in Sector Development

, you will support DHL CSI’s sector development activities across multiple industries, from Engineering & Manufacturing to Life Sciences, Technology, and more. You will contribute to strategic projects that strengthen DHL’s market positioning and customer engagement, while gaining first-hand experience in how global sector strategies are shaped within the world’s leading logistics company.

The position is based in the new DHL Innovation Center in Troisdorf, Germany and you will work with colleagues from around the globe.

Your Role

Join our international team and gain hands-on experience in sector strategy development and market intelligence. You will:

Drive market and account analysis

to identify sector trends, competitive dynamics, growth opportunities, and relevant logistics solutions.

Support the development of sector and subsector strategies

(e.g., Mining & Construction Equipment, Aviation & Aerospace) through structured research, data synthesis, and strategic recommendations

Create high-impact insights and content

for thought leadership, marketing campaigns, customer workshops, and major global events. Own projects, such as: + Deep-dive market analysis for different sectors, focusing on the Engineering & Manufacturing sector + Account analysis and creation of strategic account playbooks
+ Development of sector specific case studies, value propositions, and sales enablement materials
+ Preparation of account review workshops and senior management presentations

Your Profile

Enrolled in a Master’s program in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics/Supply Chain, or related field. Strong analytical and research skills (market segmentation, data validation, trend analysis). Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken). Passion for strategy, innovation, and global markets. Previous internship or project experience in consulting, strategy, or logistics is a plus.
