Limited Contract: limited to max. 6 months
Working Hours: Full-time
What you will do
In this internship, you will join our Pilot Center & New Processing team, where we develop and optimize innovative polymer processing technologies. You will gain hands-on experience at the interface of
process simulation, experimental validation, and extrusion technology
, working closely with experienced engineers and scientists.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real industrial challenges, contribute to ongoing development projects, and deepen your understanding of modern polymer processing and simulation methods within a pilot-scale environment.
Your tasks include:
Supporting development and optimization projects with a focus on
process simulation for extrusion technologies
Setting up, conducting, and evaluating
hands-on experiments on advanced extrusion and pilot-scale systems
Preparing polymer samples and performing
material characterization and analysis
in collaboration with the team
Applying
statistical experimental design (DOE)
to plan experiments and interpret results efficiently
Analyzing experimental and simulation data, comparing results, and identifying process optimization potential
Creating
clear and structured documentation
, including reports, presentations, and technical discussions of results
Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams from processing, materials, and simulation domains
What you will need Enrolled student in a relevant field of study such as
Process Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry
, or a comparable discipline
Basic knowledge of
polymer chemistry and polymer processing
is desirable
Experience with
simulation tools
(e.g. ANSYS or similar) is an advantage
Familiarity with
extrusion technology
and
statistical experimental design (DOE)
is a plus
Experience in conducting experiments and
data analysis
Good
German and/or English
language skills
Proficiency in
MS Office
programs
Strong
teamwork and communication skills
