Our team at the BMW Group industrializes emerging technologies for manufacturing and advances the digital transformation of the company. Here, you will support a multidisciplinary team at the forefront of generative AI, focusing on LLM routing and innovative solutions for manufacturing.
What awaits you?
You will support investigating how different inputs are represented within the internal states of large language models.
Furthermore, you help to examine how these representations differ across various large language models.
In addition, you contribute to analyzing how representation differences affect routing performance across different routing implementations.
Moreover, you will assist in utilizing these representations to route between language models, focusing on reasoning models of varied sizes and capabilities.
You will help to evaluate the impact of different routing approaches on inference speed and answer quality.
What should you bring along?
Studies in computer science, physics, mathematics or a related field.
Solid understanding of machine learning principles, generative AI and standard frameworks.
Experience with large language models.
Proficient in Python and GitHub; experience with vLLM or similar frameworks is a plus.
Knowledge about LLM training on GPU clusters is a plus.
Effective communication skills in English; German is a plus.
