The position is located within the In Vivo Pharmacology Group in the Neuroscience Discovery organization at Ludwigshafen (Germany). The open position is for approximately 8 months beginning in March 2024. The talented intern will make substantial contributions to conception and execution of new therapeutic approaches to neurodegenerative diseases in a collaborative environment. A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to establish and perform immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization on tissues derived from mice models of neurodegenerative diseases.

Key Objectives:

• \n
• Execute, analyze and interpret experiments to support research activities under the supervision of a mentor.\n
• Plan details of experiments and maintain a lab notebook.\n
• Operate scientific equipment and utilize software tools to analyze and interpret data.\n
• Execute immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization including qualitative and quantitative analysis.\n
• Contribute to group meetings and discussions and present results to the Team.\n

Education and qualifications:

• \n
• Bachelor or Master level student (undergraduate) in neuroscience or related life science field (Master level is preferred).\n
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English (written and oral) are required.\n
• High scientific rigor and commitment.\n
• A high degree of flexibility and curiosity.\n
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal relationship skills.\n
• Ability to present scientific activities/results.\n
• Expertise in immunohistochemistry would be advantageous.\n
