Job Description

The Franconian International School (FIS) in Erlangen, located in southern Germany, serves primarily the international community of the Metropolitan Region of Nuremberg and educates students in an international environment according to high academic standards. It provides an atmosphere respectful of diverse cultures and promotes responsible global citizenship. The school is committed to promoting international and intercultural experiences for its students. The students at the FIS come from over 40 different nations.

The FIS is looking for an

IB PYP English Additional Language Teacher

Starting:

Starting December 1, 2025 or at the beginning of 2026

Employment Type:

Full-time

Contract Type:

An initial 1.5 year contract as a replacement for parental leave, with the possibility of extension

Responsibilities:


Teach and manage the educational program relevant to subject and grade level(s) based on the FIS curriculum Plan, co-teach and assess students of a range of EAL proficiency levels with other stakeholders Work as part of an integrated EAL team Other responsibilities according to FIS Teacher Job Description
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:


Teaching qualification with valid teaching license, if applicable Relevant University degree Strong Collaboration and Co-teaching skills Strong focus on student-centered learning Experience in an international school or school with high EAL provision an advantage Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred
