Overview:

We are currently supporting a leading engineering client in Central Europe in their search for a High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join their offshore substation delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HV professional to contribute to major renewable energy projects, while also gaining exposure to complex, high-reliability infrastructure environments.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver HV electrical engineering expertise across the full lifecycle of offshore substation projects, from concept through to commissioning. Specify, review, and coordinate the design and integration of HV systems (33kV to 400kV), including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems. Interface with internal teams, external contractors, and grid operators to ensure technical alignment and compliance. Support procurement, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning activities. Contribute to the development of digital monitoring, SCADA integration, and protection coordination strategies. Ensure all designs meet relevant European and international standards, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and maintainability.

Candidate Profile:

Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with demonstrable experience in high-voltage systems engineering. Background in offshore wind, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects involving critical power systems. Strong understanding of HV protection and control schemes, grid compliance, and system redundancy. Experience with HV cable routing, earthing, and insulation coordination is highly desirable. Proficient in engineering tools such as ETAP, Power Factory, or similar. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
