What you'll do


As

Head of Software Engineering – Business Integration (BI)

, you lead and grow a software engineering team focused on

Supply Chain Integration (SCI/EDI)

and

Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)

. You shape and continuously improve our Business Integration services in close collaboration with the Management Board, Product Management, and IT Operations. You define the software architecture and innovation strategy to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions and drive the execution of the product roadmap.

The role combines strategic leadership, operational responsibility, and strong stakeholder management to deliver reliable, value-driven integration solutions.

Key responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Develop the software architectural vision and long-term roadmap for SCI/EDI and IDP. Lead organizational design, hiring, onboarding, and staff development. Ensure engineering excellence through standards, best practices, and quality frameworks.

Operational Management

Oversee end-to-end delivery of BI solutions: design, development, testing, deployment, and operations. Establish efficient processes (Agile/DevOps) and ensure compliance with security and data protection standards. Manage vendors, external partners, and key technology providers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Align BI capabilities with product and operational requirements. Support presales and customer engagements requiring integration expertise. Represent BI competence in internal and external technical forums.

What you´ll need


Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a comparable field (Bachelor’s minimum, Master’s a plus) At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or system integration Proven leadership experience in engineering teams (project-based, deputy role, or full personnel responsibility) Strong expertise in integration technologies, document-processing workflows, and modern software architectures
Practical experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and container orchestration
Ability to design scalable, secure solutions and align technical decisions with business goals Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior management Professional working proficiency in English; German at native or full professional level preferred
