We are looking for a dynamic and very skilled engineering manager who is enthusiastic to work in a Google Cloud setup with around 600 services and 100 database clusters, leading a team dedicated to empowering the engineering organization and driving innovation.

Your Tasks

You are responsible for the reliability, performance, security and compliance of the HolidayCheck Cloud Platform You shape the long-term vision of the Cloud Platform and align it with the company’s strategic goals You lead the technological evolution of the cloud infrastructure, reducing technical debt and eliminating legacy systems By delivering self-service tools for engineers in the various business units you support autonomy of the production teams You oversee incident management processes, including root cause analysis and preventive actions, to maintain high uptime and reliability You manage and further develop a team of 3 software engineers and 6 systems engineers spread over two locations and make sure that they are well connected within the HolidayCheck engineering world You are responsible for the hosting budget, you manage the third party relationships and drive a cost-efficient and sustainable cloud setup You closely cooperate with IT leaders, engineers and stakeholders across the company and commonly shape the IT processes, standards and strategy

What you bring

You have at least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager in Platform, Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or similar area and you are able to work with a high level of autonomy (reporting line to Senior Management) You have demonstrated that you can deliver long-term projects within deadlines while responding to short-term needs You have deep experience in working with public cloud computing providers, with infrastructure as a code as well as with Open Source solutions in a production environment You have a strong understanding of scalability, performance, and cost optimization in cloud infrastructures You challenge the status quo, explore new technologies, and continuously improve systems You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment You are reliable and strive for high quality standards You are a team player, a good communicator and you like to interact with others
