We are looking for an experienced and analytical
Head of Financial Oversight
to lead financial governance for our major group-wide development project Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee weekly audits of invoices, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure strict financial compliance.
Review and approve weekly payment summaries, ensuring alignment with the overall project budget.
Challenge the Commercial and Construction teams on procurement requests, rigorously assessing the necessity, cost, and value-add of all spend.
Act as a financial “gatekeeper” ensuring that expenditures are essential and justifiable from a project ROI perspective.
Negotiate and manage high-level discussions with senior stakeholders, particularly the Head of Commercial, to align on strategic procurement decisions.
Responsible for managing procurement processes within tools like Think Project, Proliance, and SAP, ensuring compliance and adherence to internal control standards across the project.
Provide financial insights to improve project delivery efficiency and cost management.
Ensure accurate financial reporting and tracking of committed vs actual expenditures.
Collaborate closely with other local finance and operational teams as necessary.
Your Profil:
Proven track record in financial oversight roles, within ideally
construction, infrastructure, or real estate development
projects.
Strong background in
finance, accounting, or audit
– ideally with project-based financial control experience.
Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; capable of handling
complex discussions
and
resolving conflicts
diplomatically.
Strong analytical mindset with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
Fluency in English; German language skills considered a strong plus.
