The purpose of the Head of Unit position is to provide leadership and managerial direction to the unit within its given mandate and to actively contribute to the leadership of the organisation. Together with the other Heads of Units, the Head of Advisory Unit and the Head of Department, the incumbent forms the Department Management Team responsible for planning and achieving our social mission contribution and the departmental strategic goals as effectively and efficiently as possible.
YOU WILL

As a team member, you will support our projects on site - without actually being there. You will be responsible for the following tasks:
Contribute in developing and implementing the department's strategy, setting annual objectives, plans, budgets, and resource allocations to align with MSF’s strategic goals
Help to drive innovation, and develop strategies leveraging new methods, technologies, and approaches
Lead projects with strategic implications within the department and/or across the organisation
Drive the transition towards data-informed HR practices, developing and maintaining systems, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that provide actionable insights for strategic workforce planning and organisational decision-making
Optimise processes, knowledge management and info sharing, oversee development of needs assessment framework for operational units
Give strategic guidance and supervise the further improvement of HR policies and changes with high impact for MSF-Gernany offices
Develop the skills of employees through regular feedback, conduct development dialogues and annual employee appraisals
Create a healthy working atmosphere in the team through your leadership behaviour
YOU HAVE

The following professional qualifications and personal qualities are important to us:
Significant experience within the area human resources, change management and/or project management
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position with leading teams, and guiding and providing support services to peer group units
Experience supporting strategy development, its revision as well as translation into annual plans and concrete measures
Ability to implement and advance process and knowledge management and appreciation of existing structures and achievements, while driving their further development
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with proficient communication in either English or German
Good understanding how process and information and knowledge management can be implemented to advance services to be efficient and effective
Good understanding of digitalization processes or interfaces of different systems, experience with IT projects is an asset
Affintiy to work with data, experience in HR controlling is an advantage
