Aachen

Department:

Global Operations & Production

Job ID:

44841
Management | Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid

Our people in

Manufacturing & Global Operations

share two priorities: getting things done and making things better. If you’re a dynamic person with a positive mindset, you’ll fit in well here. It’s an international team with a powerful spirit of collaboration. Together, we make sure our products meet the highest standards of quality by constantly searching for ways to improve at every stage of our value chain – from the raw materials we buy through to the logistics network that brings our medicines to patients. Join our team and help us make an even bigger contribution to Grünenthal’s future.

Stepping into this role will allow you to shape how quality control is defined and delivered across our entire

global manufacturing network

. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to ensure that every product we bring to patients meets the highest standards, while also

setting the strategic direction for quality control

and

driving a culture of continuous improvement

throughout the company.

In this role, you’d be leading the global Quality Control function, which means you’d be setting the vision and ensuring that our quality control activities are aligned with Grünenthal’s broader objectives. You’d be expected to

implement standardized processes and best practices across all our manufacturing sites

, making sure that everything we do is consistent and compliant with international regulatory standards like cGMP and ICH. A big part of your job would be to

champion LEAN-lab methodologies

—so you’d be looking for ways to optimize lab processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and foster a culture where continuous improvement is second nature. You’d also play a key role in our Excellence Network, collaborating with colleagues across functions and geographies to share best practices and drive innovation in quality control.

To thrive in this position, you’d need a strong

academic background in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry

, ideally with a

Ph.D.

You should bring at least seven years of

leadership experience in quality control

within the

pharmaceutical industry

, and you’ll need to be comfortable

managing global teams

and working in a highly regulated environment. Experience with

LEAN-lab implementation

and a track record of

driving cultural change

are essential, as is a deep understanding of global regulatory requirements. You’ll need to be a

strategic thinker

and a

decisive leader

, able to juggle multiple priorities and manage resources effectively. Strong project management skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate across diverse teams and cultures are also crucial. In addition to overseeing quality control operations, you’d be expected to work closely with Site Directors to manage personnel, budgets, and equipment, and to focus on developing talent and succession planning within your teams.

Ultimately, this is a role for someone who is passionate about quality, thrives in a dynamic international environment, and is always looking for ways to make things better. If you enjoy inspiring teams, implementing best practices, and ensuring that the highest standards of quality and compliance are met, you’ll find this position both challenging and rewarding.
