We are looking for a full-time position at our location in Eschborn as:

Hazard Communication & Product Data Specialist (m/f/d)



This position supports product regulatory compliance through effective initiation and coordination of the SDS development and management process. The holder of this position will be responsible for coordinating the identification and delivery of appropriate product detailed compositions based upon product formulation information and raw material data (as acquired from raw material suppliers). The position will cover work associated with Safety Data Sheets recognizing the associated regional variations associated with SDS content, language and local regulatory restrictions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface directly with the Product Stewardship Team on the generation of SDS regarding product hazard classifications, regulatory statements, SDS phrases, compositional disclosure, or trade secret substances
  • Responsible for the data integrity of the products specification, related to SDS and regulatory requirements for the responsible region
  • Works closely with the Global Hazard Communication Leader to maintain global product compliance and identify process improvements
  • Provides input to Global Hazard Communication Leader on SDS Authoring process to meet regulatory requirements and/or to enhance process efficiency
  • Liaise with R&D, TS&D and Quality assurance departments to ensure complete and accurate information is shared among teams
  • Work closely with external consultants / experts in support of Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology and Dangerous Goods
  • Input raw material compositional data and product physical chemical data & product composition into SAP EH&S Product Safety Module
  • Responsible for identifying and transmitting appropriate formulary information to external SDS Authoring service provider to generate/update compliant product SDSs

OUR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical degree in chemistry or related background
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the field of hazard communication or other relevant experience
  • Understanding of chemical formulations, hazard terms and hazard classification frameworks (GHS and various national implementations of GHS)
  • Previous SDS authoring experience, preferably in SAP EHS system
  • Disciplined working style, ability to follow procedural documentation and understand impacts of change with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intercultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills
