The team you'll be part of belongs to Bell Labs Core Research (BLCR) within Strategy and Technology. In the BLCR Radio Systems Research lab you’ll carry out groundbreaking research at our Stuttgart site in design of wireless air interfaces and access networks, performance assessment (system simulation) and prototyping. You can bring deep research knowledge and expertise to a cross-disciplinary team.

gain insights to industrial research challenges inside Nokia,
contribute to the definition of radio access network technical foundations for research programs, project objectives and work plans,
key focus in your position will be on advancing key new use cases in Next Generation Radio Communication Systems, such as ISAC (integrated sensing and communication), 3D-networks and Wi-Fi improvements.
propose and publish research in major research forums worldwide,
create and maintain strong collaborative associations with university-based researchers, other leading research bodies, product business units and government agencies,
provide key inputs and consulting on research problems, -directions and -methodology and propose solutions
generate Intellectual Properties Rights.
A PhD degree in Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related discipline with expert knowledge in wireless communications.
Multiple years of post-PhD research experience.
Deep Experience in wireless access networks and protocols, especially for industrial communication.
Experience in performance analysis or simulations, radio channel and traffic modelling, performance study.
Track record of publications, projects and/or patents.
Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to interdisciplinary, team-oriented projects. Ability to work in a collaborative environment amongst business as well as academic partners. Highly engaged and hands-on personality, versatile and a self-starter.
Strong written and verbal communication skills can express yourself fluently in English. (German language skills are helpful but not required.)
It would be nice if you also had:
Deeper knowledge about 3GPP standards and 5G/6G research.
Deeper knowledge in Wi-Fi protocols.
