Global PMMA Product Stewardship Specialist (m/f/d)

The holder of this position is responsible for global product regulatory compliance, and toxicology, of the Trinseo’s PMMA business. The Global PMMA Product Stewardship Specialist directs the three critical services provided by the Product Stewardship function to the Global PMMA business. This includes the health and safety for all those that use Trinseo products (distributors, customers, OEMs, brand owners); risk management in association with all product end-use applications; and product regulatory compliance for regional sales into specialized end-uses (food contact and medical devices). Interacting regularly with internal stakeholders, suppliers, customers, regulators, business executives and industry associations, he/she also manages projects in the organization such as selecting external vendors, standardizing work processes, training new team members, and championing new programs.


  • Manage the work processes for the three critical product stewardship services in relation to hazard communication, product & raw material composition and product compliance
  • Represent the corporate capabilities of the Global Product Stewardship department with the leaders of the partnering functions (Research, Commercial, Quality and Purchasing)
  • Evaluate the ongoing quality and efficiency of the customer response work process and the accountable elements of Product Commercialization (Hazard Communication and Regulatory Compliance)
  • Build consensus among the various functions (mainly Quality and TS&D) with regard to how Global Product Stewardship resources will support the work process for product commercialization
  • Leverage the best practices utilized by Global Product Stewards to define the “legal” compositions of Trinseo products and raw materials
  • Participate to all sustainability projects and be the champion of sustainable chemistry in the PMMA business
  • Represent Trinseo as a member of the technical/science teams affiliated with various industry groups including Plastics Europe, PMMA Group and MMA Technical Committees
  • Continuously evaluate the performance of third-party consultants providing services for Hazard Communications, Regulatory consultancy, Toxicological Consultancy and Risk Assessments


  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences (Masters or Doctorate) or similar
  • 5-10 years of experience in chemical or materials industry, including at least 5 years of experience in Product Stewardship and/or toxicology
  • Global Product Regulatory expertise: chemical management regulations (EU REACH, TSCA, etc.); Classification and labelling regulations (CLP and GHS); food contact regulations (U.S. FDA, GB 9685, BfR, etc.). General knowledge of Product Stewardship, Hazard Communications and Product Regulatory Management
  • Ability to communicate complex toxicological research into practical concepts related to product safety.
  • Ability to communication effectively and collaborate with Quality, R&D and Commercial functions.
  • High level of intercultural competence and strong leadership competence
