We are now offering an exciting opportunity for a Finance and Accounting Specialist to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
What Will You Be Doing as Finance and Accounting Specialist?
The Finance & Accounting Specialist is responsible for a broad range of financial, accounting, and payroll activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting the smooth operation of the finance function.
The role requires close collaboration with Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll, Legal, Contractor Care, and Credit Management teams, as well as flexibility to support month-end, year-end, and audit activities. Occasional support for payroll and legal queries may also be required. The postholder is expected to maintain confidentiality at all times and uphold the highest standards of data protection.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accounts, supporting schedules, and financial statements; coordinate with external advisors (e.g., Frankus, BDO).
?Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including VAT, CIT, and TIT returns.
Manage accruals, controlling accounts, and postings in DATEV; explain account balances.
Prepare and submit VAT reports, payments, and the quarterly Zusammenfassende Meldung.
Process purchase and sales invoices (including intercompany), manage payments via DATEV and Commerzbank, and oversee debtor control (Opos Liste).
Collaborate with AP, Treasury, and other teams to ensure accurate invoice processing and payment execution.
Prepare payroll data, maintain employee records, and coordinate salary payments and tax reporting with external partners (e.g., Easy Payroll).
Reconcile bank accounts, clear unapplied cash, and maintain payment schedules.
Support statutory and tax audits (e.g., SV, Deutsche Rentenversicherung) and respond to authority queries.
Maintain digital certificates (e.g., Elster) and submit regulatory reports such as the Ausgleichsabgabe.
What experience are we looking for?
Strong experience in finance, accounting, and payroll administration (preferably with DATEV and Zvoove).
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant finance/accounting software.
Experience with German financial regulations and reporting is desirable.
