Field Service Technician – Semiconductor Analytical Instruments

Job Description

Join a fast-paced, innovative team working at the forefront of semiconductor technology. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and performance of Elemental Scientific’s advanced analytical systems — including the Radian VPD-ICPMS wafer contamination analyzer, the scoutDX chemical monitoring system, and other lab automation solutions. These tools are used by the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers to ensure process reliability and contamination control. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving, and supporting customers with essential tools that directly impact semiconductor manufacturing quality. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

· Install, commission, and maintain Radian VPD-ICPMS, scoutDX, and other semiconductor analytical instruments

· Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability

· Provide on-site customer support, training, and technical guidance

· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and other system issues

· Document service activities and maintenance records

· Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve reliability and performance

· Travel locally within Dresden and occasionally within Europe to support customer sites

Required Qualifications

· Technical background in electronics, engineering, chemical technology, or related field (degree or equivalent experience)

· Experience working with analytical instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or cleanroom environments preferred but not required

· Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused mindset

· Excellent communication and organizational skills

· Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently in dynamic environments

· Valid driver’s license; personal transportation preferred, car or otherwise
