Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified

Field Service and Commissioning Engineer

to support the

commissioning, start-up, and maintenance of fuel farm systems

for

critical infrastructure

, including data centres. The role involves working on safety-critical diesel fuel storage and distribution systems that support emergency and standby power generation.

Electro-Mechanical Engineer with strong instrumentation experience

and a background in regulated industrial environments such as

power generation, hydrocarbons, pharmaceuticals, or chemical industries

Key Responsibilities (Aufgaben)Commissioning & Start-Up (Inbetriebnahme)

Commissioning and functional testing of fuel farm systems, including: Diesel storage tanks and bund systems Fuel transfer, day tank, and booster pump systems Fuel filtration and polishing units Fuel monitoring, leak detection, and gauging systems Valves, actuators, and safety interlocks Execution of

FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing

Verification of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation installations against design documentation Integration of fuel systems with

diesel generators, BMS, PLC, and SCADA systems


Service & Maintenance (Service und Wartung)

Planned preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities Electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation fault finding and troubleshooting On-site technical support for critical facilities with high availability requirements Support during generator load tests, endurance testing, and emergency operation scenarios
Safety, Quality & Compliance (Arbeitssicherheit und Qualität)

Ensure compliance with: German and EU regulations (e.g. BetrSichV, AwSV, WHG where applicable) ATEX / hazardous area requirements Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards Preparation of: Commissioning protocols and test reports Risk assessments and method statements Handover and as-built documentation Support internal and external audits and site inspections
Customer & Project Interface

On-site coordination with clients, subcontractors, and project teams Technical support during installation and commissioning phases Training and handover support for client operations and maintenance teams
Required Qualifications & Experience (Profil)Essential

Degree, Meister, or Techniker qualification in: Electro-Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Strong hands-on experience with

instrumentation and control systems

(level, pressure, flow, temperature, field devices, I/O) Industry experience in one or more of the following: Power generation Oil & gas / hydrocarbons Pharmaceutical manufacturing Chemical processing Experience with commissioning, service, or maintenance of

fuel systems or industrial process systems

Ability to read and work with: P&IDs Electrical schematics Control philosophies and Cause & Effect diagrams

Unrestricted right to live and work in Germany (mandatory)

Willingness to travel extensively within Germany
Desirable (Wünschenswert)

Experience in

data centres or other critical infrastructure

Knowledge of diesel generator auxiliary systems Familiarity with PLC, BMS, and SCADA systems ATEX training or certification German language skills (B1 level or higher advantageous)
