Engineering Manager

Your mission

The Engineering Manager will lead a dynamic team of engineers that owns our B2B shop and EDI platform. You will drive people development, delivery excellence, and architectural evolution towards scalable, secure, and maintainable systems - in close partnership with Product Owners and Business stakeholders. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who enjoys stepping into a complex environment and turning it into a well-structured, efficient and motivated team. Key Responsibilities will be:

Team Development:

Inspire and foster a positive, collaborative culture within the engineering team, providing necessary support and motivation

Performance & Delivery:

Establish clear goals/metrics, regularly evaluate team performance, provide constructive feedback and recognize exceptional efforts and balance short-term outcomes with technical health

Architecture & Technical Direction:

Guide the B2B ecosystem towards modern, event-driven, cloud-native patterns on AWS

Cross-Functional Integration:

Work closely with other departments to ensure engineering efforts are in harmony with company goals.

Innovation and Risk Management:

Lead initiatives that push for continuous improvement and innovation while managing risks effectively and plan for team scalability to meet the growing needs of the organization

Technology and Quality Assurance

: Align technology strategies with business objectives and collaborate with Platform, Security and QA teams to uphold high-quality standards

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management:

Lead modernization initiatives, manage tech debt and risks, and scale processes as the business grows

Your experience & skills

Proven experience in

engineering management (3+ years)

leading software teams in an agile, product-driven environment Strong background in software

engineering

(ideally

PHP/Symfony

) and familiarity with

cloud-native/event-driven

architectures on

AWS

Strong knowledge and practical experience in

Agile methodologies

, with a track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects and optimizing team performance through data-driven metrics Excellent

leadership and communication

skills; ability to align diverse stakeholders and enable senior engineers Fluency in both

English and German

Genuine interest in

B2B commerce, integrations and process automation
