Job Description
Representation of all departmental and factory issues in project work
Coordination and control of the IE topics according to the PMS manual in the vehicle development projects of air spring systems and control of process changes outside of project work
Planning and implementation of investment projects up to handover to the respective production plant
Standardization, industrialization and optimization of the manufacturing processes in the plants.
Coordination / management of projects to optimize plant efficiency
Process Optimization:
Discussing and solving problems with the production departments, suppliers and interest groups
Independent management and lead of special projects/task forces to optimize processes
Development and evaluation of theoretical designs
Coordination of structural process changes as part of the CIP (Cost Improvement Program)
Analysis of the current situation and derivation of measures to ensure continuous improvement
Performance optimization of production lines and processes through a targeted analysis and a cross-functional coordination of measures
Development and review of suitable test setups
Process Industrialization:
Project planning and support for the introduction of new product designs in production, taking into account production processes and procedures that are to be newly defined
Management of projects for industrialization of new designs (process industrialization)
Interfaces to ensure plant-specific requirements for industrialization and design change processes
Coordination of structural process changes with customer plants worldwide
Responsibility for safety, time, costs and quality of the systems
Checking construction drawings in different release levels as well as checking the prototype construction with the series production process
Coordination for all operationally relevant measures in the PM core team
Definition and ensuring that operational requirements are taken into account in the SE process
Launches:
Launch equipment according to RnD requirements and Strategic capacity footprint
Responsible for safety, time, cost and quality of equipment
Ensure fulfillment of ESS spending and approval budget
Perception of the OP core team function according to the project management system (PMS) of the segment ESS after nomination (The tasks and responsibilities are described in the PMS manual itself
Responsibility for costs and deadlines for internal investments within the framework of the respective customer project
Support in determining, applying for and enforcing the necessary project budgets in cooperation with purchasing and controlling
Support in determining and enforcing the respective manufacturing and product-related economical and qualitatively optimal solution
Simultaneous Engineering:
Besides above mentioned topics at "equipment and processes":
Define and ensure consideration of operations requirements in SE process
Ensure consideration of all operations investments and costs in the assessment of design variants
Responsible for manufacturability assessment
Ensure SE and launch process according to PLC
Footprint, finance and budget:
Ensure fulfillment of Segment spending and approval budget, incl. forecast and budget preparation for following years
Update Business cases and quote sheets / eCRs: Provide IE input (esp. Invest, headcount etc.)
Footprint & LMS: Definition of ramp-up curves, line performance, headcount etc.
PCC: support PCC process for equipment related KPIs
Consulting:
Initiation, evaluation and implementation (after decision) of KRP measures within cross-departmental teams
Innovation and technology management in cooperation with sales, development and production
Advice to the development departments with regard to production-oriented and timely design of air spring systems
Qualifications
The ideal candidate (m/f/diverse) will possess the following qualifications:
Academic degree in engineering or industrial engineering or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in the automotive industry
Experience in both industrial engineering and research & development
Experience in the coordination of global projects and specific knowledge of project management (automotive processes)
Lean management and process analysis, problem solving (CBS, A3, etc.)
Fluent English language skills (both written and spoken)
