The Department for the Psychology of Human Movement and Sport seeks to fill the position of a



Doctoral Researcher



commencing on 01.12.2025. We offer a part-time position (75% / 30 hours per week), offered as a fixed-term position until 30.11.2028.

Your responsibilities:

Conduct research within the DFG-project “Gaze Signaling in Interactive and Collaborative Small- and Large-Scale Actions (GazeACT)” (Principal Investigators: Prof. Dr. Rouwen Cañal Bruland and Prof. Dr. Katja Fiehler) as part of the DFG Priority Programme “Understanding Gaze (UGaze)” (SPP 2481) Plan and conduct experiments and analyse resulting data Publication of research articles in quality international, peer-review journals Presentation of research outcomes at national and international conferences Work on a scientific qualification project, i.e. PhD degree

Your profile:

An excellent Master's degree (or equivalent) in human movement science/ sport science, psychology or in a related field Strong interest in conducting experiments Very good methodological, statistical and programming skills (e.g. Matlab, R or Python) Experience with different behavioral research methods (e.g. kinematic measurements, gaze tracking) Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) Scientific enthusiasm and high level of commitment

Remuneration based on the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Federal States (TV-L) up to salary scale 13 — depending on the candidate’s personal qualifications—, including a special annual payment in accordance with the collective agreement. The advertised position is (initially) limited to a maximum of 3 years with the possibility of extension.
