Aufgaben

Generating, optimizing and further developing process engineering concepts while considering economic feasibility, safety, environment, efficiency, reliability, ease of operation and maintenance. Carrying out process simulations and optimizations for entire plants, individual process steps and plant equipment. Designing process engineering solutions and determining chemical properties, including conducting literature research. Preparing the process engineering part of inquiry and order specifications for equipment as well as flow diagrams, R+Is, mass and energy balances and other process engineering documents for new process variants. Performing flow simulations and optimization using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Conducting experimental tests, e.g. on catalysts and their evaluation. You have an academic degree (TH/FH) a doctorate degree would be advantageous in process engineering, technical chemistry, mechanical engineering with a specialization in process engineering or a related field. Furthermore, you have a very good knowledge of chemical and thermal process engineering that is ideally complemented by initial experience in the field of chemical plant and apparatus engineering. You are well experienced with using MS Office applications as well as modern electronic and digital media. Further software knowledge (e.g. simulation programs such as Aspen Plus), programming skills (e.g. Python, C, C++) and / or CFD simulation tools (Fluent, OpenFoam) would be an advantage. You have experimental laboratory experience, keep an eye on the large-scale process, and are familiar with creating kinetic models for catalyzed and/or gas-phase reactions. Knowledge of the nitric acid production process would be of advantage.
