The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director (f/m/d) E2E Digital Business Processes & Global Quality at Grid Software role requires a strategic mindset, deep industry expertise, and strong analytical skills—someone who can think innovatively while ensuring top-tier quality across the software development lifecycle.


The successful candidate will be accountable for designing, implementing, and overseeing a robust quality assurance framework tailored to the unique needs of grid software products, services, projects and cyber security. This role will involve setting quality standards, defining performance metrics, and implementing effective measurement methods to drive customer satisfaction, excellence and growth. The successful candidate will ensure that the quality is consistent with company’s policy requirements, national and international standards and customers specifications.


The Quality Team is tasked with promoting a quality culture throughout the unit, tailored to the specific needs of a Software Company.


The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader capable of transforming the quality function, hiring and mentoring a team of Quality Assurance professionals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Key responsibilities:

Software Quality Assurance Framework:

Develops and implements a scalable, agile-driven quality assurance framework tailored for software products, services, and delivery. Defines software quality standards, performance metrics, and test automation strategies to ensure high-quality software releases.

Digital Transformation & Automation:

Leads the integration of AI-driven quality assurance, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines to enhance software quality, reduce defects, and accelerate delivery cycles.

Project Quality Assurance & Delivery Management:

Ensure that quality assurance processes are effectively integrated into project management practices. This includes defining and managing quality checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and requirements gathering to final delivery and post-launch support.

Strategic Quality Leadership:

Establishes a continuous improvement culture (CIP) by embedding software testing best practices, root cause analysis (RCA), and defect prevention strategies.

Global Compliance & Cybersecurity:

Ensures adherence to industry regulations, cybersecurity standards (e.g., Cyber Resilience Act), and secure coding practices to mitigate software risks.,

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Works closely with the executive leadership, key stakeholders and interfaces to align, drive and achieve quality objectives with business and product development roadmaps.

Leadership & Team Development:

Builds, leads, and mentors a global team of software quality engineers, automation specialists, and QA analysts, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

AI & Data-Driven Decision Making:

Leverages data analytics, AI-powered testing, and predictive quality models to drive proactive decision-making and optimize software performance.

Scalability & Cloud-First Approach:

Ensures software scalability, cloud-native best practices, and resilience testing to support enterprise growth and customer demands.

Business Continuity & Risk Management:

Develops disaster recovery strategies, incident response plans, and software resilience testing to ensure uptime and operational stability.

Your Profile:

This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in software quality engineering, DevOps integration, and test automation, combined with the ability to drive digital transformation while ensuring product reliability, security, and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

+

Educational Background:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent qualification combined with significant professional experience across various responsibilities (preferably beyond just Quality Management (QM) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)). +

Experience:

10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, DevOps integration, or software release management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Project Management Expertise:

Proven experience in integrating quality assurance into project management processes. Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality goals are met throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to delivery and post-launch support. Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies

Delivery & Release Management:

Strong background in overseeing software delivery and release management processes. Experience in coordinating releases, ensuring that software products meet quality standards, deadlines, and customer requirements. Ability to drive feedback loops from delivery into the development process to continuously improve software release quality and performance.

Industry Knowledge:

Proven experience in End-to-End (E2E) process management within a software company, covering product development, release management, and operational performance.

Product Development Expertise:

Strong knowledge of software product development, with a focus on agile methodologies (e.g., Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)).

Compliance & Safety Expertise:

Deep understanding of product safety standards and experience with securing software products. Ideally, previous experience working with product safety-critical products.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Familiarity with quality, EHS, and cybersecurity management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), as well as Business Continuity Management (ISO 22301).

Technical Skills

+ Expertise in software quality management frameworks, defect prevention strategies, and release management. + Strong knowledge of automated testing tools, performance testing, and security testing.
+ Experience with DevOps practices, Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines, and cloud-based deployment strategies.
+ Ability to interpret and use quality metrics, defect analytics, and process improvement methodologies to drive operational efficiency.

Leadership & Soft Skills

+ Extensive leadership experience in managing global teams across diverse regions in an international business environment, ideally in the software industry. + Proven ability to lead and mentor teams across multiple levels, with a focus on building strong quality-focused cultures.
+ Exceptional change management, coaching, team building, and communication skills, including experience in leading transformation or consulting projects.
+ Fluent in English and preferably German, with strong communication skills to interact across various functions and regions.
