Title and Summary
Director, Account Management
The Director Account Management is a key position within the German sales organization, contributing significantly to the strategic direction and sustainable growth of the company. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term market and customer strategies, steering complex transformation projects, and driving innovation. The leadership and development of a team of Account Managers and leaders could be part of the role, depending on organizational requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive account and market strategies to position Mastercard as a leading partner in the German market
Drive and be accountable for achieving revenue, profitability, and growth targets
Build and maintain relationships with top clients, decision-makers, and external stakeholders
Initiate and manage strategic transformation projects and innovation initiatives
Collaborate with internal partners (Business Development, Marketing, Product, Legal, Finance, Franchise, etc.) at both national and international levels
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal company requirements
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and to external partners
Foster an open, inclusive, and high-performance corporate culture
The leadership and development of a team of Account Managers and leaders could be part of the role, if organizationally required.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Several years of leadership experience in account management, sales, or related fields, ideally with personnel responsibility
Proven success in developing and implementing market and customer strategies
Experience managing complex projects and working with multiple stakeholders
Strong analytical, communication, and strategic skills
Experience in change management and leading transformation processes
Excellent knowledge of the banking and payment industry and the German market
Fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
