POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

To execute and manage engineering projects, supervising assigned staff, as required, to achieve agreed objectives.

Principal Activities

• Specification and requirement specifications for the construction of the structures and designs ordered on the basis of recognised technical regulations and company experience or specific design programmes
• Control and checking of the structures, developments and documentation
• Specification of requirements and checking of nominal compressive strength and other calculations in accordance with European and international directives
• Checking and implementation of the customer specification with respect to the structural requirements and the checking and implementation of specification requirements
• Specification of requirements for operating and maintenance instructions in German and English, together with checking and updating them
• Detection of faults and fault analysis in the technical implementation of orders and the resulting specification of technical measures for fault prevention
• Preparation of technical requirements and memoranda for the Technical Division, together with the preparation of sales-related memoranda
• Preparation of memoranda on new developments for the Technical and Sales Divisions
• Specification requirements for the conduct of flow simulations and stability analyses with the existing resources on the computer and their analysis
• Specification of principles for new design programmes and the related schedules
• Supervision and management of test bench measurements and their analysis
• Conduct of development tasks and specification of new developments and their coordination with the Production Division

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Project delivery - at or within agreed project time-line
• Project costs - at or within budget level
• Support on time delivery - at or above target level
• Maintain closure rate at agreed levels of engineering related Corrective Action Reports (CAR\'s) and In Service Defect Reports (ISDR\'s)

Education & Experience

• A recent graduate with some experience of design, development and project management, ideally of high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic valves and systems.
• Generally computer literate with familiarity of 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
• Formal qualifications to degree level or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
