The role:
The Demand Planning team at Tesla is responsible for the end-to-end global plan for the auto business. The EMEA Demand Planner is responsible for solving quantitative optimization problems around our vehicle plan to maximize operational efficiency, customer experience, plan stability, and financial results.
What You'll Do
Use Operations Research modeling techniques with Python and SQL to develop and optimize current planning models to determine what cars we build, where they go, and what customers they go to
Work with production, supply chain, logistics, programs, sales and finance to determine constraints and goals to feed into the model, dealing with unexpected challenges as they arise
Use SQL to create reporting summarizing the plan, track changes, and identify gaps
Manage communication with various cross-functional teams in order to ensure zero-error data quality and integrity
Lead partner teams on process improvements, plan execution, and other planning-related initiatives
Provide thought leadership on how we can improve our planning processes and drive efficiency in sales operations
Adeptly handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and be willing to pivot as the business requires
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Engineering, Computer and/or Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
Experience in building operational optimization models and algorithms in Python and/or other programming languages
3+ years of related experience in applying statistics in planning, analytics or operations role
Programming Languages: Python + SQL required, Tableau & Airflow experience nice to have
Strong experience in data processing methods (e.g. building ETLs)
Bonus experience: understanding of S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) elements and process
Self-motivation, strong work ethic and passion for being hands-on in their work
Excellent judgment and ability to proactively anticipate complex chain-reaction impacts of plans
Thrives in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
