NATO Airborne Early Warning (NAEW) is looking for skilled technicians to support the process of accrediting a large number of software applications and systems.
Skills, knowledge, experience required:
Background in deploying web-based capabilities and systems that rely on XML for interoperability;
Experience with:
Oracle Forms and Reports 10g/11g;
SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle Database 10g/11g;
Service-oriented architecture (SOA);
OLE2;
Oracle WebLogic 10g/11g/12c;
Oracle Designer;
QMS standards;
Oracle Headstart.
Desirable:
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with NAEW&C Force CIS Squadron organisation, procedures, and IT systems.
Duties/role:
Maintaining (both in-house and outsourced) application software hosted on NAEW&C networks and stand-alone IT/CIS systems (data and support software) including logistics software that is used in support of Weapons Platform and is Mission Critical;
Applying life-cycle support for user account administration, fielded application software, and data configuration management;
Designing, coding, testing, correcting, and documenting large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result;
Developing web applications;
Designing XML structures, XSL style sheets, and XPATH structures;
Providing XML import/export facilities for databases;
Developing and deploying Web Services using open standards and protocols like UDDI, SOAP, HTTP, etc.;
Creating and maintaining websites via ad-hoc development or through web platforms like MS SharePoint Server, MS Internet Information Server or equivalent;
Designing and creating components usable on the Web or in client-server applications;
Applying quality assurance to the fielded application software and support processes and related technical documentation;
Applying maintenance of IT/CIS service plans and procedures for the life-cycle and supporting functions for assigned applications software;
Implementing IT/CIS service requests for changes and maintenance to fielded applications;
Conducting integration tests to validate the correctness of application software changes implemented or to validate new versions of off-the-shelf products;
Arranging and coordinating SQ internally the installation support for assigned application software on server and client platforms, including configuration management;
Supporting the conversion of legacy product application software into new IT/CIS service environments;
Supporting technical reviews of contractor-produced application software and data packages;
Applying core data structures to COTS/NOTS and contractually delivered software applications;
Applying routine and contingency support for application software maintenance and support efforts at FOBs/FOL and other deployed locations;
Applying information security protection to assigned IT/CIS services (including software, on-line and archived data, workflows, etc.) in accordance with NATO and NAEW&C security directives, to include a viable disaster recovery capability;
Providing technical advice and support on assigned application software to external partners and industry;
Supporting product selection and acquisition, trial installations and walkthroughs, deployment, enabler training, testing and release for use, in-house and outsourced technical support and maintenance, and 2nd level user support of each assigned IT/CIS services;
Participating in analysis of causes and incidents of IT/CIS service failures (including IT system troubleshooting) and effecting/conducting appropriate action to correct problems;
Maintaining and operating an efficient and effective technical library for assigned software applications;
Conducting data extraction requirements, to include implementing functional solutions.
