For our significantly growing Data, AI & MarTech Department, we are looking for 2 technical team leads for 2 teams together covering the following topics. Each successful candidate is supposed to fulfil a respective subset of mentioned qualifications.
As Data Team Lead you are playing a pivotal role in Smartbrokers data & AI journey. You will lead and mentor great talents and work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, drive innovation and data & AI adoption throughout the organisation. Your team is responsible for generating significant business value through data, enable data & AI driven decision making across departments, while ensuring compliance with data regulations.
Job description:
Lead a team of highly skilled and motivated data engineers, software engineers, AI engineers, act as mentor for team members supporting themgrowing and unfolding their full potential
Be responsible forourcloud baseddata lake infrastructure, drive continuous improvement, manage data access, ensure compliant data handling and platform security
Manage end-to-end implementation of efficient data pipelines according to our dataconsumers‘ needs, from data ingestion, transformation to consumable data products
Own the technical implementation and components of your team as well as their operation and maintenance
Development and integration of data governance tools, e.g., automated data deletions or tracking consent management
Be responsible fortechnical integration of marketing tools
Manage the implementation of server-side-trackingand own our tracking infrastructure incl.Google Tag Manager,Firebase, Google Ads…
Develop andmaintainthe technical AI and machine learning infrastructure
Manage machine learning and Gen AI use case implementation using LLMs and RAG
Build AI and data features in close collaboration with product engineering teams
Closely collaborate with data consumers across theorganisationincl.Management,Product, Marketing, Finance, Client Support andOperations

Your profile
University degree in a technical field: computer science, business informatics, natural sciences, or similar
Expert knowledge in machine learning, generative AI, LLMs & RAG, AIagentsand related technical tools (OpenAI,LangChain,Langfuse…)
Very goodpython & SQL programming skills, Java is a plus
Deep technical knowledge of moderncloud baseddata platforms (GCP/AWS,dbt, Firebase,BigQuery)
Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google Analytics
Experience with implementation of server-side tracking and consent management
Strong understanding in structuring data models and efficient data processing of large data sets
Deep knowledge of Software Engineering best practices—from requirements specification, version control, CI/CD, and testing to deployment and monitoring of data pipelines and services
Familiarity with data & AI security, data regulations, data privacy requirements
Strong people and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, experience in leading and mentoring talents,strong senseof ownership
Strong English communication and presentation skills, German is a plus
Interest in finance and fintech industry and a sense of humor
