We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data engineering to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures of the modelling toolbox. As a contributor, you will ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility while collaborating closely with the founders. Responsibilities



Solve complex data flow and dependency problems, enabling transparent, versioned, and auditable computations. Develop and maintain metadata and lineage models that support semantic graphs and numerical pipelines. Implement scalable processing pipelines for time-, resource-, and cost-based data across distributed systems. Ensure the integrity, quality, and accessibility of data across various systems and platforms. Work closely with the customer and the founders to identify the highest-ranking product opportunities for leveraging data in decision-making processes. Stay current with industry trends in data engineering and language models.

Requirements



3+ years of experience building distributed data systems (e.g., Spark, Flink, Dask, or Ray). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of data architecture projects. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Expertise in SQL and experience with various database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc., Graph based) Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with data storage solutions Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related data services Excellent analytical skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to own topics You must speak English at level C1 or higher, having basic German skills is appreciated You see it as an option to relocate to Cologne, Germany in the future
