This role will be part of the Investment & Asset Management Tower for Group Technology, responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and maintenance of all investment and asset management systems, applications, and platforms. The Tower manages the seamless transition of new systems or projects to steady-state operations and takes ownership of key business relationships, providing accurate metrics on uptime, issues, and resolutions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Data Analytics Architect for the IT unit Business Solutions – Investment & Markets. As a Data Analytics Architect you will lead the data definitions as well as support the design and engineering of highly appropriate, tightly integrated, flexible and fault-tolerant data repositories and systems with the lens of a consistent end to end data architecture and high data quality. You will moreover support data governance in the design of the required governance, management, and operational processes around data quality for the overall data strategy implementation of an integrated and regulatory compliant data ecosystem.
Your Job
Lead the implementation of the data strategy for the business area Group Investment Management
Create the design of Munich Re´s pillars for Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, Sourcing and Staging of Data, BI, Advanced Analytics and R&D in close alignment with business functions and enterprise information management
Design and implement effective data analytics solutions and models to store, process, and analyze data
Be responsible for strategic roadmaps that describe the journey to target state for all Data & Analytics domains
Evaluate the high-level designs and implementations of third parties to ensure alignment with Enterprise Data Architecture standards, as well as to maintain quality, coherence, and consistency.
Establish standards, patterns, and controls to ensure Munich Re deploys services in a consistent, standardized, and repeatable manner
Your Profile
University degree preferably in computer science or similar qualification
5+ years of experience in hands-on design and implementation of comprehensive data analytics systems and architectures
Deep understanding of data management principles, solution development life cycles, enterprise architecture, and IT risk & security standards and best practices
Very good understanding of Azure technology like Data Lake, Databricks, Spark, Power BI
Preferably, you already have relevant certifications, e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, Microsoft, SAP, or have the readiness to pursue one with our support
Excellent collaboration and communications skills to deal with senior stakeholders and executives and to build and nurture business relationships
Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
Fluent spoken and written English, fluency in German is a plus
