Within the ICS team, we collaborate with clients to dive deep into their public disclosures to best optimize their governance, compensation, and sustainability strategies. We identify where they lead and lag peers to anticipate shareholder concerns and maximize appeal to investors.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a client-facing role that requires strong knowledge and experience in corporate governance, executive compensation, and research and/or consultancy. The successful candidate will work both independently as well as collaboratively with ISS-Corporate advisors and sales within EMEA/US to provide corporate governance, executive compensation content and advisory services to senior executives at the world’s largest companies. Candidates will have a passion for corporate governance and enjoy fast-paced and multicultural teamwork and have a strong analytical and critical mindset.
Candidates should demonstrate thorough understanding of current corporate governance trends and disclosure expectations as well as have experience in evaluating companies’ governance and compensation policies and practices and working with data or ratings. The individual should be a market expert/leader with at least 8 years of experience working with corporates, investors, or other key stakeholders on these topics.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work highly independently, contribute to product development and pilot consulting and training for issuer clients and will interact daily with colleagues from other units and with clients from around the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIESConduct reviews of clients’ AGM/EGM meeting materials, including, but not limited to director election items, capital issuance proposals, employee, and executive remuneration related proposals (remuneration reports, remuneration policies, employee, and executive share plans), shareholder proposals, and other matters that may require shareholder approval. Analyze client data and proposals to identify sources of concern to shareholders in corporate governance proposals and identify potential risks. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing subject matter expertise for the full ISS-Corporate solution suite with the goal of driving high retention rates. Educate clients primarily on Governance market/industry trends, best practices, and ISS Governance ratings, including methodologies and technology (SaaS platform) that underpins the data. Perform platform demos to new and existing users and inform clients on product changes/innovations, and how our clients will benefit from them. Answer inquiries on a timely basis and check in regularly with clients to gauge overall satisfaction levels. Produce client-ready deliverables as requested by clients and ISS-Corporate colleagues. Support ISS-Corporate sales team members to identify prospective clients, along with their corporate governance needs. Participate in speaking events, roundtables, webcasts and pre and post proxy season ISS-Corporate events.

QualificationsMinimum bachelor’s degree (master’s preferable) in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, or equivalent experience in Corporate Governance related field. Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably in Corporate Governance and ESG research or consultancy roles. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English and German. Strong research and analytical capabilities. Ability to understand key client needs and adapt to diverse cultural contexts. Initiative-taker who can work independently and across a team. Absolute personal and business integrity.
