Corporate Internal Audit Manager – German (m/f/d)


The Group Internal Audit Manager ensures that internal audit is managed in compliance with regulations and SYNLAB Group policies, ensuring proper risk management and leading to on-going progress of Finance and of the business. Within the Group\'s internal audit team, you will lead and carry out operational and financial audits as part of the annual audit plan.

The Internal audit manager reports to the Head of Group Internal Audit. The Internal Audit team is spread across several key European locations.

EN: Das sind Ihre Aufgaben:

  • Participating in the scoping of the Audit Plan in coordination with the Head of Group Internal Audit, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Finance Leadership Team, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Group Executive Committee (CMB) as applicable
  • Conducting and documentation of financial and operational and financial audits throughout the organization by:
    • Planning - Performing process walkthroughs to identify the key activities, risks and controls
    • Identification – Identify risks, control gaps, process improvements and cost saving potential
    • Risk Assessment – Applying risk and control concepts to assess control design and developing a test approach of the key controls
    • Operational Effectiveness Testing – Testing the effectiveness of the key controls identified
    • Documenting - Compile clear and concise audit work papers with conclusions that are supported by the work performed
    • Reporting - Discuss and report control design deficiencies and controls not operating as designed
    • Tracking – Implement Issue resolution tracking mechanism and validate periodically with management implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Regular monitoring and ensuring compliance with the implementation of action plans as part of audit follow-up missions with assessment of the completeness rate
  • Regularly presenting the work performed by the Internal Audit team to the Country/ Region Leadership and Audit Committee of the Group
  • Leading a self-assessment approach of risks and financial controls during the systematic annual campaign of validation of the different financial processes
  • Performing special projects as deemed necessary by management
  • Liaise with other Group Finance functions (Group Accounting, Treasury, Tax, …) to enhance internal control guidelines
  • Liaise with Group Legal and Compliance to coordinate any compliance findings
  • Coach and lead the team auditors in order to ensure careers opportunities in the Group

EN: Das bringen Sie mit:

  • Strong competence in finance and external audit within an international audit firm
  • Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience on the position of an Audit Manager within Big 4 companies
  • Strong managerial skills, since the candidate will manage 2 different country audits at the same time
  • Preferably experience in internal audit in an important international group
  • Business partnering and strong communication skills: listening, adaptability and interaction skills with the senior management of the countries and the Group
  • Native or business professional level of German is a must
  • Excellent command of English, preferably fluent in another European language
  • Dynamism, precision, persuasiveness, analytical and synthetic skills.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision with latitude for initiative and judgment
  • Willingness to travel frequently
