\n We are recruiting for an exciting Compliance Analyst role in our Paris or Frankfurt office, you will join a collaborative local/regional team who are experts in their field and looking forward to investing into your Compliance Advisory career.

As a Compliance Officer for our capital markets business, you will have an excellent opportunity to develop your compliance experience in a dynamic, commercial, and fast-paced environment. You will learn all about the private side corporate finance business of Macquarie Capital and be involved in a broad range of compliance issues. You will also have regular interaction with senior management and executives across the business and the Risk Management Group in Europe. You will also cover the futures clearing and OTC derivatives marketing business. This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with the local, regional, and even global teams, making it an exciting platform for your future career.

As you evolve in this role you will take on the following responsibilities:
  • Advising on compliance implications for specific transactions, new products, and businesses.
  • Compliance support for the broader European business, such as Amsterdam and Milan.
  • Involvement in the annual risk and control self-assessment process.
  • Developing and delivering training to provide the business with clarity regarding compliance responsibilities.
  • Supporting the team on responses to regulators, ensuring compliance with regulatory submissions/requirements.
  • Devising policies and procedures. Implementing regulatory change.
  • Undertaking monitoring and investigating issues identified.
  • Reviewing investments, documenting the assessment of regulatory considerations.
  • Reporting on material compliance and anti-money laundering matters.
  • Acting as the nominated officer for the purpose of receiving, assessing, and filing suspicious transaction reports.
  • Contributing to the success of the team by identifying ongoing areas of enhancement and driving continuous improvement to ensure that an effective compliance environment is maintained.
Skills and attributes required in the role:
  • Experience in compliance/risk from a financial services firm.
  • A knowledge of European financial regulation, including money laundering/terrorism financing prevention, some experience of the EU economic and trade sanctions regime; and an ability to analyse requirements.
  • Lateral thinker with problem solving skills and an ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to initiate and lead conversations regarding anticipated and emerging issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with on and offshore colleagues, able to determine priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Tenacious, agile and with proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focused environment.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and either French/German
