Responsibilities
The Creator Publicity team is part of the broader Consumer and Business Communications organization, which works to amplify how TikTok is a global platform for discovery that empowers creators and brands to shape culture, spark creativity, and bring joy to audiences around the world. The Communications Manager for LIVE Creator Publicity will play a key role in elevating TikTok’s LIVE creator community through media-facing initiatives, campaigns, and proactive storytelling.
Our team is looking for someone well-versed in internet culture who can operate at the intersection of livestreaming, creator publicity, and innovative storytelling — collaborating closely with our LIVE, Creator Partnerships, Consumer, E-Commerce, Trust and Safety, Product, Operations, Public Policy, and Legal teams across a range of products, policies, partnerships, and events. This person should have a proven ability to distill information quickly and communicate across a wide range of audiences, and should have experience creating clear, succinct strategies and talking points that bring stories to life. This person should have a wide range of media contacts and can source, pitch, and secure stories across a diverse media landscape. In addition, this person should thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, think globally while executing projects locally, and collaborate with consideration and a people-first mindset.
The Communications Manager for LIVE Creator Publicity will also help spotlight the ways that TikTok LIVE enables creators to build careers on and off TikTok, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to highlight creator involvement in global tentpole events and campaigns. TikTok LIVE is a distinct and fast-growing community with unique opportunities around real-time engagement, creator/community interaction, and monetization — this is a high-impact role for someone who is comfortable pivoting quickly if plans shift, navigating creator issues, and problem solving proactively.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute proactive media strategies that showcase TikTok LIVE's creator community and showcase LIVE creator success stories
Proactively identify timely story opportunities about TikTok LIVE trends, products, and creators
Manage relationships with consumer, entertainment, pop culture, fan, and tech media — regularly pitch stories, secure placements, act as a liaison for press inquiries, and offer product education to reporters
Serve as a key point of contact for LIVE creator-focused media inquiries, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders
Serve as a trusted partner to creators and talent reps, offering support and thoughtful counsel around media and communications
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to establish clear messaging, align on approach, and ensure accurate representation of TikTok LIVE's creator offerings
Partner with the product team to identify and execute thought leadership initiatives that advance LIVE, B2B, and Creator Network goals
Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional partners on LIVE creator-related issues and strategy, supporting coordinated issue management
Help curate creator invitations and lists for key events and tentpole campaigns,
Travel to and staff events, panels, activations, etc. as required (including internation travel)
Contribute to communications planning around creator-related issues or policy changes
Develop LIVE creator-focused publicity efforts, working closely with creators and their teams to support product launches, programs, and media opportunities
