We are recruiting a

Commodity Analyst

This is a key position within our Intersnack Procurement team, with high visibility and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The Commodity Analyst is responsible for providing key insights for our Category Managers for Commodities. They will provide fundamental and technical data and trends in the commodity markets. By setting up procedures and systems to embed market intelligence into the organization, the position holder will influence key buying decision, particularly in the areas of Maize (Corn), Wheat, Sugar and vegetable oil. It will be key for this position to create and maintain a network with our commodity managers and internal & external stakeholders. They will also play a crucial role in the hedging and risk mitigation strategies of Intersnack Procurement.

The Commodity Analyst reports to the Head of Commodities and will ideally be based in Düsseldorf, DE or Doetinchem, NL.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide relevant and accurate market analysis and commodity reporting to internal stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basis
• Influence buying decision trough recommendation, based on personal insightful reports.
• Monitor and highlight trends in the Macro Economical environment affecting procurement business.
• Collect, analysis and check local & global commodity and market data.
• Help and bring in new ideas in development of apps and dashboards within the BI environment (Qlik).
• Setup procedures and embed trend analysis into the organization.
• Develop and improve standard commodity full cost models.
• Sparring partner to category management during purchasing process.
• Help to prepare buying / price fixation strategies with Head of Commodities and Category Management.

What might qualify you for this role:

• A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Agronomics, Finance or Business
• 3+ years’ work experience in a similar field
• Experience with working with large sets of data.
• Prior experience in Research or Commodity trading / Brokerage is a plus
• Assertive, convincing and with a commercial and competitive mindset
• Analytical skills with a strong sense of curiosity
• Strong networking skills
