About the Opportunity

Are you a robotics expert looking to build something from the ground up? We are a deep-tech startup forming in Bremen focused on next-generation autonomous systems. We are currently assembling our founding team to apply for the

EXIST Research Transfer (EXIST-Forschungstransfer)

, Germany's most prestigious funding program for high-tech university spin-offs.

We are looking for a

Technical Co-Founder (CTO)

to lead our technology roadmap, design our hardware, and secure funding with us.

The Role

As our CTO, you will not just be an employee, you will be a partner. You will have full ownership of the technical vision, from the physical build to the code that runs it.

Hardware Design & Build:

Design, prototype, and assemble custom robotic platforms or drones (UAVs). You will handle the mechanical selection and hardware integration.

Lead R&D:

Develop algorithms for autonomous navigation, perception, and control.

Strategize:

Define the technology stack and long-term product roadmap.

Grant Success:

Work closely with the team to finalize the technical portion of our EXIST application.

Who You Are

To be eligible for the EXIST funding and succeed in this role, you fit the following profile:

Academic Background:

You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Recent Graduate:

You graduated within the last 5 years (strict requirement for the grant).

Hardware Skills:

You have hands-on experience designing robots or drones. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and rapid prototyping (3D printing, component selection) is essential.

Software Stack:

Strong proficiency in C++ / Python and experience with ROS/ROS2.

Location:

You are based in Germany and willing to work from Bremen (the project will be anchored at Constructor University in Bremen).

Mindset:

You have an entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and the drive to build a deep-tech company.

What We Offer

Funding/Salary:

Upon approval of the EXIST Research Transfer grant, you will receive a fully funded position (salary based on TV-L E13 guidelines, approx. €2,500–€3,000 gross/month depending on experience).
