Your apprenticeship

As a freight forwarding and logistics services apprentice, you will organize the worldwide shipment of products from our suppliers' production facilities to the respective customers or warehouse locations.



You will organize the handling of goods as well as storage, order picking, and downstream transport to the end consumer. In doing so, you will take into account the different requirements of all modes of transport, from sea vessels to trucks, and link the various participants in the logistics process to form a reliable and transparent supply chain.

You will also take into account and implement the special requirements of different products or industries. The interrelationships between foreign trade and the requirements of customs law, sales tax law, and foreign trade tasks form the basis of your daily business.



To this end, you will communicate with foreign business partners, service providers, and customers as well as with German ones. Part of your communication will be in English.



The practical part at HELM is rounded off by school-based training at the vocational school for freight forwarding, logistics, and transport in Hamburg.



You can expect practical training at an internationally oriented trading company that works with various logistics service providers across all modes of transport.

Your profile

For an apprenticeship in our company you have the following qualifications:


secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss) or (technical) high school diploma (Fachabitur) good German and English language skills basic mathematical understanding Interest in business issues Organizational skills Commitment and high flexibility team capability, strong communication skills and being open-minded
