Role Purpose

In these key lab-based roles, you will support NPD and EPD projects from concept to completion, providing analytical support for the delivery of the category\'s global OTC and Derma innovation pipelines and manage the stability assessment and analytical technique development of new products. Your role will include testing new technologies, developing new analytical methods, improving existing methods/processes and generating data for claims support. You\'ll work closely with our third-party suppliers and our formulation team and have an opportunity to build/demonstrate your analytical knowledge across a wide portfolio of product formats (creams, gels, shampoo) spanning cosmetics, medicines and medical devices regulatory classifications.

In additional the Senior Analytical Scientist will be responsible for managing the analytical team within the OTC & Derma categories, with some line-management responsibility. The role will provide guidance on overall project timings, co-ordinate stability studies and support junior staff members in their development. The Senior Analytical Scientist will act as the single point of contact for analytical scientists within the department and will be responsible for communicating analytical requirements of projects to marketing, technical, QC and QA functions.

  • A relevant analytically focused Scientific degree, such as Chemistry/Forensic Science.
  • Analytical Scientist: HPLC experience would be highly desirable and FMCG sector background advantageous
  • Senior Analytical Scientist: Experience of HPLC analysis and method development/validation will be required. Experience in analysis of semi-solid and liquid dosage forms will be desirable. Experience in setting analytical specifications and designing stability protocols will be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment;
  • Analytical Scientist is an excellent entry level opportunity for candidates who may have recently completed a lab based industrial placement year and are looking for their next career step or candidates seeking to broaden their existing base foundation of analytical skills.
  • Senior Analytical Scientist would be expected to have 2-3 years\' experience in analytical sciences, and a proven track record of method development and stability analysis across a range of product formats.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively cross functionally.
  • An analytical mindset and ability to solve technical problems.
  • The Senior Scientist Role would have line management responsibilities, therefore experience in coaching/mentoring staff would be advantageous.
