Accounts Receivable Intern (m/w/d)

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Intern will support the finance and accounting team in managing incoming payments and maintaining accurate financial records. This role provides hands-on experience in financial transactions, bookkeeping, and the use of accounting software, offering valuable exposure to standard accounting procedures. The intern will assist with various tasks related to billing, collections, and account reconciliation, contributing to the efficient operation of the accounts receivable function.

Responsibilities

Track outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments through communication with clients/stores/departments support the finance and accounting team in reconciling the process from sales to incoming payments Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies under the guidance of senior staff. Support month-end closing activities, including preparing bank reconciliations. Assist in the preparation and processing of payments onto the banking system. Perform basic bookkeeping tasks and assist with general ledger maintenance. Assist in researching and analysing financial data. Provide clerical and administrative support to the finance department. Perform other accounting duties as assigned, which may include assisting with accounts payable functions.

Profile

Required skills and qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., debits, credits, accrual-based accounting). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients and team members. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and contribute. Familiarity with accounting software is a plus but not mandatory.
