As a Service Technician (m/f/d), you will be part of the
Operations Offshore & HVDC 2GW
team, which ensures that operational requirements are considered during the planning, construction, and commissioning phases of the offshore grid connection system. The team also supports the transition of the facilities into operation and contributes to their ongoing development.
In preparation for the operational phase, you will ensure that existing maintenance strategies are applied or adapted as needed to guarantee the long-term availability and technical integrity of the facilities.
For this position, you will work and live abroad (3-5 years) in the yard location Cadiz/Algeciras, Spain from most likely end of 2026 on.
Your profile and background
You have completed vocational training as a
ship mechanic
,
industrial mechanic
, or
HVAC technician
(m/f/d), or hold a comparable qualification. Additionally, you have
completed further training
as a master craftsman or technician (m/f/d), or an equivalent qualification
Ideally, you bring
relevant experience
in maritime operational technology
You demonstrate flexibility and
multifunctional readiness to support
colleagues during multi-day stays on offshore platforms
Your working style is characterized by
strong teamwork, initiative

As part of your
onboarding
on existing grid connection systems, you will get to know our
technical facilities and working methods
, as well as
offshore-specific roles
that are essential for operations and emergency response (e.g., fire fighting, offshore first aid). You will apply the
gained insights
and your
technical expertise
directly to the 2GW projects, playing a key role in preparing for the operational phase.
You take on tasks related to the
integration of operational procedures
and systems to prepare for the future operational phase, ensuring a smooth transition into operations
This includes independently handling
documentation
and condition assessments of the facilities, as well as overseeing and ensuring quality control
As a Service Technician in Operations (m/f/d), you are independently responsible for
troubleshooting, inspection, and maintenance work
on specific process engineering systems of the grid connection systems—both on offshore platforms and in converter stations at onshore substations
This also includes performing isolations on the mechanical systems and setting up
safe work environments
. You are also responsible for supervising,
ensuring quality control

instructing service providers
during maintenance activities
Additionally, you participate in
on-call services
for initial fault response, including on weekends and public holidays.

This will be our challenge
The Grid Field Operations Offshore & HVDC (GOG) unit is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of our offshore facilities (platforms and converter stations) and other HVDC transmission facilities (offshore-onshore connection lines). We also carry out base load projects (cat. 1-3) for all offshore facilities.
The Grid Field Operations 2GW division is currently being established in order to contribute operational experience during the construction phase of the facilities and to optimally prepare for the operational phase.
